Each spring, the calm waters of the Messolonghi lagoon welcome elite-level athletes — most recently, kayak clubs from Budapest, Hungary, who returned in March 2025 for their regular 3-week training camp.
Over the years, teams from Hungary, Serbia, Bulgaria, and Cyprus have chosen Messolonghi as their early-season base — drawn by its ideal flatwater conditions, mild climate, and warm hospitality.
Messolonghi offers a unique combination for canoe-kayak clubs and national teams seeking an ideal early-season training destination:
